Thomas Wood, Jr., a
sixty-six year member of the Lycoming Law Association, and former
Lycoming County Judge, died on September
25, 2007. On December 12, 2007, a special session of court was
held to hear from the memorial committee that was appointed by Lycoming
County President Judge Brown to prepare
resolutions concerning the life and work of Judge Wood.
The special session of court was called to order by Judge Brown. Also presiding were Lycoming County Judges Richard Gray and William Kieser and Senior Middle District, Federal Judge Malcolm Muir. The resolutions prepared by the committee were presented to the Court by former Lycoming County President Judge Thomas Raup, chairman of the committee. Other committee members Michael Collins, Robert Elion, Charles Greevy, III, Paul Wertman and Robert Wise were recognized by the Court for comments and remembrances of Judge Wood.
Judge Brown invited members of the bar and other members of the public in attendance to comment on Judge Wood's influence on their lives and a large number of comments were received.
The resolutions were accepted by the Court and ordered to be published in the Lycoming Reporter and conveyed to the family.
