New CLE Center and Conference Facility Featured

The bad news is that the Lycoming Law Association has been evicted from its current office, in the Penn Tower Building.

The good news is that the old office is about to be replaced with a new, larger and much more functional space, in the same building.

Packing for the moveLast year when the Association was told that it had to vacate its office, the Association leadership started to look at options, hoping to address inadequacies with the current space and to meet the needs of members. Several possibilities were reviewed, including ownership of a building, moving to another office building and staying in the same building.  In the end, the Executive Committee opted to remain in the Penn Tower, but to move to a larger, newly renovated and much more functional suite of rooms.

Incomplete kitchen facilitiesThe renovations of the 8th floor office suite began in January and are almost completed.  The tentative moving date is Monday, February 17, and the office will be partially out of commission on Tuesday, February 18 (except for the PBI Video Replay, scheduled for that day).

The new facility, located in Suite 803, is a huge improvement over the old office.  The seminar room will be able to seat over 30 participants, for CLE's.  It will contain state-of-the-art electronics that will allow simulcast and video seminars to be projected onto a large screen.  The room is ideal for live seminars, as well.

All LLA CLE presentations will occur in the new facility.  That includes the "Eat & Earn" series.  That is possible because the suite contains a kitchenette, so that food may now be served.

Waiting area, looking into the Executive Director's officeThe suite contains a separate conference room, which will hold a large table and conferencing equipment.  This allows seminars to take place at the same time as depositions or meetings.  In the old facility, the same space was used for both activities.  The new space also includes a waiting area, which the old office did not have.

Storage was always a problem.  Now, there is a separate storage area, which will eliminate the clutter of the old facility.

Entrance to the conference roomOur Executive Director has her own office and there is an additional small room, which may be outfitted for use as an office in the future, or perhaps a small conference room, if needed.

The new office suite will offer a much more functional space, with many more options for education, rental and Association use.  The LLA is looking forward to offering its members more, and better services in this new facility.

Look for the upcoming open house.  Members are welcome to drop in, to check out the final look, after the move-in date.  All CLE, and meetings will be in the new office, after February 18.
