Lycoming County Attorney Admission Ceremony

The Lycoming County Court of Common Pleas continues the tradition of admitting new attorneys to practice before the "Several Courts of Lycoming County." (Previous admissions: www.lycolaw.org/members/new_members/122100.html). The next Admission Ceremony is scheduled for October 4, 2002, at 4:00 PM, in courtroom #1, in the Lycoming County Courthouse. Members of the Bar are invited to attend.
Attorneys who recently commenced practice in Lycoming County are encouraged to participate in this tradition. The form motion and application are available for download in various formats at www.lycolaw.org/court/BarAdm/admissions.htm. Contact the Court Administrator with questions, (570) 327-2330.

LLA Committee Organization

The LLA is in the process of evaluating the current committee structure. The current formal committee organization is on the Web at www.lycolaw.org/Committees/committees.asp. Other LLA committees or LLA related committees function within the organization. The goal is to identify those committees that are of value to the membership, and then encourage member participation in 2003.
If you have an interest in forming a new committee, or chairing or participating in an existing LLA committee, please contact President Elect, Gary Weber (gweber@lycolaw.org). Likewise, information should be provided of informal committees of LLA members, if you wish to include the committee on the LLA committee list, so that the LLA may solicit members for participation.

Lycoming Law Foundation Update

The Lycoming County Law Foundation was established as a tax exempt non-profit corporation in 1989, with its primary purpose to improve the legal and judicial system, to promote law related education in the County, to solicit, invest and disburse funds including contributions from members of the Association, and to provide support for the provision of legal services to low income individuals in Lycoming County.

The Lycoming Law Foundation is continuing its five year campaign to raise $100,000. Read the status report at www.lycolaw.org/public/legal_services/report.htm. The funds in the endowment, now in excess of $50,000, are managed by Woodlands Bank. The Board of Directors of the Lycoming Law Association Foundation are currently developing a strategy with the bank in order to maximize the return on that investment and fulfill the promise and purpose of this campaign.

Attorney Roster

If you use the poster size attorney roster that was previously distributed by a Williamsport printer, you are probably wondering when it will be updated. Good news!! Minuteman Press has agreed to print an up-to-date attorney roster for distribution this fall. The roster will be provided at no cost to the LLA or its members.
Of course, the LLA member directory is always up-to-date, and available at the touch of a mouse at www.lycolaw.org/directory/directory.asp.
