Mike Wiley2
Next time you see Mike Wiley, give him a big pat on the back! Mike received a coveted Pro Bono Award at the PBA Annual Meeting in Hershey in June, and we are very proud of him!

Nominated by Danna Rich-Collins of NPLS, Mike has proved himself to be an invaluable asset to our local Pro Bono efforts. Since beginning his practice in Lycoming County, Mike has been a yearly recipient of the Fair Share Award. He is always available to NPLS and is known to take more cases than necessary on a regular basis. Additionally, Mike has served as a Judicare Attorney for NPLS, and also serves on its Protection from Abuse Panel. In fact, the word on the street is that Mike has never refused a pro bono referral!

Pictured above with Mike are Elizabeth Wood Fritsch, Co-Chair of the Legal Services to Public Committee, Danna Rich-Collins of North Penn Legal Services, and Ken Horoho, President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Again, our congratulations to Mike.
You should recently have received a "Save the Dates" email letting you know that seven (count 'em: 7!) Lunch & Learns have been scheduled for the 2006- 2007 L&L Series. The Lunch & Learns are always held the 3rd Wednesday of the month at noon, at The Ross Club. Want more information? Check out the LLA Website. All information is there!

The Lycoming Law Association's Young Lawyers Division will be holding its First Annual Lawctoberfest on Saturday evening, October 7, 2006, at The Bullfrog Brewery! Mark your calendars now for what is sure to be a really fun evening of food, drink & a Silent Auction of terrific items that the YLD has been working on for months. All proceeds of the event will benefit the Lycoming Law Association Foundation, and YES! We've checked, and there is NO PENN STATE HOME GAME THAT DAY!!

You'll be receiving your formal Invitations shortly.

Check out the new and improved LLA Website when the new home page debuts next week. The site was recently evaluated by a nationally known legal Web site developer (courtesy of the ABA) who recommended some changes to the appearance and functionality of the site. Look for a cleaner and easier to navigate site, when the work is completed.

Of course the Web site continues to display up-to- date court opinions (more than 1920), news, event calendar, local rules and announcements. Also, use the site to track upcoming, local CLE presentations.

Member comments are always welcome. We are always looking for news and information to add to the site.
Congratulations to David & Kathleen O'Donnell Raker on the birth of their son!

Tiffani Kase, Esq., has joined the Law Firm of Mathers & Stapp, effective September 5, 2006.
