Judges Welcome Four New Attorneys.   The Lycoming County Court of Common Pleas sat, en banc, for a special session of court at which four new attorneys, Christopher Kenyon, Joshua Wilkins, Heather Willis, and Ashley Nichols, were admitted  (Jan 14, 2012)

 

LLA Honors Nichols at Annual Banquet.   The Association presented its first ever Community Service Award in recognition outstanding commitment to community service beyond the practice of law to William E. Nichols at the annual banquet.  (Jan 12, 2012)

 

LLA Members Gather for Annual Meeting.   Mike Wiley was elected president of the LLA at the annual meeting; members received reports and passed a budget.  (Jan 11, 2012)

 

Judge Gray Recognized.   The 2011 Honorable Thomas Wood. Jr., Equal Access to Justice Award was presented to Lycoming County Judge Richard Gray for leadership with the Mortgage Diversion Program.  (Jan 10, 2012)

 

2011 Public Service Awards.   At its 2012 Annual Banquet, the Lycoming Law Association, in cooperation with North Penn Legal Services, recognized those of its membership who have volunteered to provide legal services to the poor.  (Jan 10, 2012)

Engel Elected State Bar Executive's Treasurer.   LLA Executive Director Jessica Engel was elected treasurer of the Pennsylvania Association of Bar Executives in November 2012.  (Nov 30, 2011)

 

YWCA Recognizes Judge McCoy.   The YWCA of Northcentral Pennsylvania recently honored Judge Joy McCoy as an Unsung Hero.  (Nov 28, 2011)

 

LLA Supports Local Red Cross Flood Relief.   On October 27, President Brian Bluth presented a check to Valerie Whyman, of the American Red Cross, to support local flood relief efforts.  (Nov 3, 2011)

Nine Appeal Court Judges visit Williamsport.   First-Ever Local Commonwealth Court Session Spawns Events  (Sep 18, 2011)

 

Collins at Historic Supreme Court Session.   The Supreme Court used a historic venue at Philadelphia's Old City Hall to introduce television cameras into the court room. LLA's own Mike Collins was there, arguing an appeal involving a unique medical-legal issue.  (Sep 18, 2011)

 

Toni Byrd Appointed to Legal Services Board.   Lycoming Law Association member D. Toni Byrd has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of North Penn Legal Services.  (Sep 14, 2011)

 

2011 LLA Picnic.   Although it was held a month later than usual, the picnic entertained a nice crowd of LLA members at the Gray's Run hunting club.  (Sep 1, 2011)

 

Commonwealth Court to Sit in Williamsport.   The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania has scheduled its first Williamsport session. The LLA has scheduled a banquet to honor the judges.  (Jul 30, 2011)

 

Malcolm Stabler Muir.   Malcolm Stabler Muir, a long-time member of the Lycoming Law Association, died on July 22, 2011.  (Jul 24, 2011)

 

Judge Malcolm Muir sucumbs.   Senior U.S. District Court Judge Malcolm Stabler Muir died overnight, in hospice care. He was 96 years old and had served on the bench since 1970.  (Jul 22, 2011)

Bill Knecht to Leave Lycoming Reporter Post.   In 1977, Bill Knecht became Editor of the Lycoming Reporter. He will retire from the practice of law, and as Editor, at the end of June  (Jun 6, 2011)

 

Carlucci Elected Scout Leader.   William P. Carlucci was elected president of the Susquehanna Council, Boy Scouts of America, during the council’s 2011 annual meeting.  (Jun 4, 2011)

 

LLA Member John Smay Hosts Filipino Lawyers.   John Smay recently hosted a group of Filipino lawyers, as a part of a Rotery exchange program.  (May 11, 2011)

Perciballi Recognized by PBA.   Henry P. Perciballi was presented with a Fifty-Year Member Award at the PBA annual meeting in May 2011  (May 10, 2011)
