Thirteen New Attorneys Admitted

The Lycoming County Court of Common Pleas continues the tradition of admitting new attorneys to practice before the "Several Courts of Lycoming County." This tradition dates from a time when all attorneys wishing to practice in a particular county were required to be admitted to practice in the court. The requirement of local admission was eliminated in favor of a statewide practice, a number of years ago. Never-the-less, the local Court, in an effort to encourage congeniality among members of the bar, continues the tradition. This provides an opportunity to the newest attorneys to meet both the Judges and other members of bar.
On December 21, 2000, thirteen new attorneys were admitted, upon motion of a current member of the bar:
- James D. Cleland, Jr., was moved by William J . Miele. James is working in the Public Defender's office.
