LLA Sponsors Education CLE

In its continuing effort to provide its members with local, live continuing education opportunities, the Lycoming Law Association sponsored a seminar on the current state of education law, on Wednesday, November 10, 2004.  Most of the costs associated with the seminar, including the cost of materials, was funded from the $500 award given by the PBA Foundation to the Lycoming Law Association as the 2004 recipient of the Louis Goffman Award for exemplary pro bono services.  Association members Fred Holland, J. David Smith, and Mark Lovecchio served as panel members along with Fred Stanzyck, a former Susquehanna Legal Services attorney now in private practice, concentrating in Education Law.

More than 60 lawyers participated in the session.  The panelists discussed issues ranging from student discipline, to special education rights, and the role of an attorney in the process.  The session was conducted in the Lycoming County Commissioners' meeting room.
