Rieders Firm Awards Scholarships
The law firm of Rieders, Travis, Humphrey, Harris, Waters and Waffenschmidt recently announced the winners of the 2006 scholarships offered to one individual from each of the graduating classes of Lycoming County. Each scholarship winner met the criteria by being a graduating senior and matriculating full-time at a two or four-year community college, college or university working toward a degree in Fall 2006.
Application for the scholarships required an essay of 250-500 words on one of two topics: “Let’s Kill All The Lawyers — Is Our Justice System Out of Control?” or “View of the role of law in society— Does Society Make The Law Or Does The Law Make Society?” Three semi-finalists then were chosen by the high school guidance counselors and faculty. Their essays along with a list of their accomplishments and activities were submitted to the firm for final selection.
The scholarship winners from each school were presented with their awards prior to graduation. They are Jared Joella, Loyalsock Township High School; Julie Adams, Hughesville High School; Aaron Joseph Ingham, Montoursville Area High School; Amber Quick, Williamsport Area High School; Matt Weiskopf, Muncy High School; Wendy Tanner, Montgomery Area High School; and Danielle Gephart, South Williamsport Area High School.
