Yaw Seeks State Senate Seat

LLA member E. Eugene Yaw announced his intention to run for the Pennsylvania Senate, a position that will open in January of 2009.   Yaw is a Republican, and he is the second candidate to announce a run for the seat currently held by state Sen. Roger Madigan, R-Towanda, who announced last month he is retiring when his term ends next year.

Yaw is a partner in the law firm of McNerney, Page, Vanderlin and Hall.  He has served as a Republican committeeman for 22 years, a former county Republican Committee chairman and member of the county Republican Executive Committee.

He served in the U.S. Army.  He is graduate of Lycoming College and of American University School of Law.

Yaw joins the race with State Assemblyman Steven Cappelli, R-Williamsport, who also announced.
