Brown Receives Award

Lycoming County President Judge Kenneth D. Brown received the Commissioners' Award for Distinguished Public Service on March 21, 2009 at the eighth annual Lycoming County Awards Banquet Saturday night at the Holiday Inn.  "Under his guidance, 29th Judicial District is more technologically advanced, employing video-teleconferencing in multiple courtrooms and an internal wireless security system," said Fred F. Marty, county chief administrator, who served as master of ceremonies for the event.

Marty added Brown was recognized for the award "for his exceptional service and visionary leadership."  The award is the highest award presented by Lycoming County government.

"I'm really honored," Brown said. "In a judge's life, you don't get a lot of times to get recognized. This is very gratifying - you don't expect this and it's very nice."
