Committee Chairs Gather for Planning Session
The business of the Lycoming Law Association is often accomplished by its committees. Association president Corey Mowrey acknowledged this at a recent lunch planning session attended by most of the Association's committee chairs.
The gathering, that usually occurs on an annual basis, gave the leaders an opportunity to discuss ideas and work toward a more effective and responsive Association.
Committees represented at the session included civil bar, criminal bar, Law Day, technology, customs and rules, estate, probate and elder law bar, education, bench and bar, history, and outreach.
President Mowrey stressed regular meetings and reports to the members. The consensus was that increased participation by members should be encouraged, particularly with new members of the bar. Encouraging participation in the YLD was suggested to introduce committee involvement. Also, participation by members of some of the larger firms is lacking, so strategies for increasing such involvement were discussed.
President Elect Liz White was offered a number of suggestions for her 2023 term. All of the chairs consented to serve during the next year.
