$1,000 Grand Prize Offered for Top Law Day Essay

Lycoming County District Attorney Tom Marino is again sponsoring the Grand Prize for this year’s Law Day Essay Competition, providing a $1,000 award to the student whose essay is selected as the best submission.

The annual Law Day Competition encourages students (public, private, and homeschooled) across Lycoming County to reflect on this year’s Law Day theme, “The Rule of Law and the American Dream.”

Marino said he is proud to support the competition and invest in the next generation of civic leaders. “Law Day is an opportunity for young people to think critically about the Constitution, our legal system, and their role as informed citizens,” Marino said. “I am pleased to sponsor the $1,000 grand prize to recognize the student who demonstrates exceptional insight and effort in their essay.”

The $1,000 Grand Prize will be awarded to the student whose essay is judged as the best overall submission. Judges will evaluate essays based on originality, clarity, understanding of the topic, and the strength of the student’s argument.

Law Day will be observed in Lycoming County on May 1, from 4-5PM at the County Courthouse, where the student winners will present their successful art works and essays. Additional details about submission guidelines and deadlines can be found here.
