The competition is open to all Lycoming County students, including those enrolled in public, private, and homeschool programs. Students are invited to participate by submitting essay or art projects aligned with the 2026 Law Day theme, “Rule of Law and the American Dream.”

Winners will be recognized at a special Law Day ceremony on May 1, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Lycoming County Courthouse. Cash prizes will be awarded, and student work will be presented. Teachers, parents, and community members are encouraged to attend and support the winning students.

Additional information regarding submission guidelines, judging criteria, and deadlines has been distributed to local schools and is also available through the Lycoming Law Association’s website, and may be downloaded here:

In Lycoming County, the Law Day Competition is a collaborative effort of judges, attorneys, and paralegals, who volunteer their time and expertise to support civic education.
