LYCOMING LAW ASSOCIATION’S FAIR SHARE AWARD 2003 In recognition of commitment to Equal Justice for the Poor by fair share participation in the Lycoming County Pro Bono Referral Program. For calendar year 2003, 82 Lycoming Law Association members handled 148 cases, 3 divorce clinics and 2 mentoring assignments for a total of 153 referrals from North Penn Legal Services in Williamsport. The following is a breakdown of the types of cases: 125 Protection From Abuse Cases, 3 Divorce Clinics, 24 Civil Matters, 2 Mentoring. This year, the Legal Services to the Indigent Committee sponsored a very successful CLE in November on Protection from Abuse Practice. It was well attended and well received. The materials that were developed for the training were excellent, as were the presenters. The Committee looks forward to more training events in the future. |
