LLA Members Endorse Retention of Judge

Under the Pennsylvania constitution, sitting judges of the Court of Common Pleas may face a yes/no retention election every ten years. At the general election to be held November 8, 2005, Judge Nancy L. Butts faces a retention election.

In order to provide the County voters with knowledge of how local lawyers view the qualifications of the judge, the Lycoming Law Association - consisting of licensed lawyers whose home office is in Lycoming County - conducted a poll by secret ballot of its members, inquiring whether the judge should or should not be retained.

The voters of our County are respectfully advised that the members of the Lycoming Law Association voted overwhelmingly in favor of retaining Judge Butts for another term.
