Rieders Appointed to State Civil Procedural Rule Committee

Clifford A. Rieders, a member of the Lycoming Law Association,  has been appointed as a member of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Civil Procedural Rules Committee for a term of five years, commencing July 1, 2019.

Rieders is a partner in the Williamsport Law Firm of Rieders, Travis, Humphrey, Waters & Dohrmann.

He is a Phi Beta Kappa, cum laude graduate of New York University and received his juris doctoral degree from Georgetown University. Rieders clerked for Federal Judge Malcolm Muir prior to his work with the Law Firm. Attorney Rieders is a past president of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, now the Pennsylvania Association of Justice, past president of the Federal Bar Association, Central Pennsylvania region.

He is a nationally board certified trial advocate in civil law and procedure and is a life member of the American Law Institute where Rieders has served on a number of Consultative Groups. Rieders is admitted in Pennsylvania, New York, District of Columbia, the Second and Third Circuits, the United States Supreme Court and a number of federal district courts around the country.

Rieders currently serves on the Supreme Court’s Standard Civil Jury Instruction Committee where he has been active in assisting to update standard jury instructions to help achieve a plain English approach.
