Matthew Brann was administered the oath of office Monday morning, February 25, 2013, as a U.S. District Court judge during an investiture ceremony held at the U.S. Courthouse and Federal Building in Williamsport.  Although he has been serving as a federal judge since January 17, 2013, this public session provided opportunities for friends, supporters and public officials to participate in the more formal proceedings.

Among the participants in the ceremony were both U.S. Senators Pat Toomey and Bob Casey, Chief Judge Yvette Kane and former law partner Evan Williams III.

The guests at the ceremony included Secretary of Revenue Dan Meuser, Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley, twelve judges of the Middle District court, four U.S. Magistrate Judges, three U.S. bankruptcy judges, and two judges of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit. Many local officials from Brann's home county, Bradford County, including President Judge Maurine Beirne were in attendance. Judges from other county courts were also present.

Afterwards, everyone gathered at the Holiday Inn in Williamsport.  The LLA was pleased to co-sponsor the reception.
