Julieanne Steinbacher Receives Inaugural Louise Larzelere Chatham Award.
Established in 2024, the Lycoming Law Association’s "Louise Larzelere Chatham Award" commemorates the 100th anniversary of the admission of Lycoming County’s first female attorney to the bar. In honor of Louise Larzelere Chatham’s groundbreaking achievement, steadfast commitment to justice, advocacy for women’s rights, and dedication to the community, this award recognizes a woman who embodies these same values and contributions to the legal profession. It also serves to celebrate the significant progress women have made in the past century.
The award is presented by an outgoing female president at the Annual banquet. Due to scheduling conflicts, Joy McCoy was unable to present this award at the annual banquet in January as the outgoing president. The award was presented during the 2025 bar admission ceremony.
The recipient of this award embodies a combination of the following attributes reflecting Chatham’s legacy: Significant accomplishments in the legal field, a history of community service, mentorship of other and contributions to the advancement of women’s rights.
The first recipient of the Louise Larzelere Chatham award is Julieanne Steinbacher. Julie is the founding shareholder of Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak, an elder care and special needs planning law firm. Throughout her career, Julie has made a significant contribution to promoting women in the legal profession. She has been actively involved in mentoring and supporting female attorneys through various initiatives. As the President of the Million Dollar Solution, she provides coaching and mentorship to attorneys nationwide, helping them elevate their practices an achieve greater success. Julie has been recognized for her dedication to improving work-life balance and quality of life for attorneys, particularly women. She co-chaired the PA Bar Association’s Quality of Life & Balance Committee, for which she received the Special Achievement Award in 2015. She has lectured extensively at various institutions, including the Pennsylvania State University Tax Institutes and Tax Week, PA Institute of Public Accountants Elder Law Institute and the PA Bar Institute and the University of Illinois. Julie also developed the non-profit National Alliance of Attorneys for Alzheimer’s Planning and The Elder & Special Needs Resource Center, which hosts frequent public seminars on issues affecting the aging.
