County
Electors Support LLA Members for Office
The fall
2007 elections found several members of the Lycoming Law
Association seeking public office. Most prominently,
Judge Dudley Anderson sought retention to a second ten year
term. Although there was a statewide campaign to deny
retention to incumbent judges, Judge Anderson was easily
retained by 72% of county voters. The Judge received
the endorsement of the LLA -
98% of those responding
voted in favor of the retention of Judge Anderson.
Also running in a countywide election, but unopposed as a result
of having won both parties' nominations, was District
Attorney candidate Eric Linhardt. Linhardt was the top
vote-getter in the county with 18515 votes. He will replace
LLA member Michael Dinges in January of 2008.
Two members of the Association were re-elected to school
boards. Thomas Hess was returned to the East Lycoming
Board as region 1 representative. He has served on the
Board since 2003.
John Smay was re-elected to the Muncy School Board from
Muncy Borough. He is currently serving as
vice-president of the Board.
In South Williamsport, Ben Landon was retained as
a member of the South Williamsport Borough Council. He
was appointed to the seat in 2004, and was successful in his
first election.
Best wishes to those members of the Association who have
chosen to serve the public as elected officials.
